After breakfast, we will begin our journey across Lake Titicaca (3,812 m.a.s.l.), considered the highest navigable lake in the world and one of the most important cultural spaces of the Andean altiplano.

Tradition, Volcanoes and Colonial Charm

In the afternoon we will pick you up from your hotel to begin discovering the magical White City of Arequipa, so called because of the use of sillar, a light volcanic stone that gives identity and elegance to its colonial architecture.

Our first stop will be the traditional Yanahuara Viewpoint, where you will walk among its famous sillar arches with poetic phrases engraved in stone. From here you will enjoy an unforgettable view of the city with the imposing Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu volcanoes dominating the landscape.

We will continue to one of the most impressive jewels of Peru: the Monastery of Santa Catalina. Founded in 1579, this convent is a true city within the city. Its narrow streets, silent courtyards, colorful walls, and colonial cloisters will transport you to another era, revealing the religious and social life of the viceroyalty.

Then we will head to the district of Cayma, known as the “Balcony of Arequipa.” Here you will appreciate its traditional colonial church and feel the authentic atmosphere of an Arequipa neighborhood, also famous for its picanterías where the most representative flavors of the local gastronomy are born.

Later we will visit the Sabandía Mill, a 17th-century construction surrounded by nature, where the ancient hydraulic system that used the force of water to grind grains is still preserved. It is a space that combines history, architecture, and rural landscapes.

We will finish at the Paucarpata Terraces, agricultural terraces of Inca and colonial origin that are still in use today. From here you will enjoy a spectacular panoramic view that unites the green countryside with the volcanic silhouette of Arequipa.

At the end of the tour, we will return to your hotel. You will have the afternoon free to continue enjoying the city at your own pace, perhaps with a coffee in front of the Plaza de Armas or tasting the traditional queso helado.

Our first stop will be in Chivay, capital of the Caylloma province, where we can enjoy a restorative breakfast and acclimatize to the Andean environment.

We will continue to the famous Cruz del Cóndor Viewpoint, a strategic point from where the grandeur of the canyon can be appreciated and, with a bit of luck, the imposing flight of the Andean condor, sacred bird of the Incas and symbol of the Andes. Here we will have time to observe, take photographs, and marvel at one of the most impressive landscapes in Peru.

On the return, we will make brief stops at natural viewpoints and traditional villages, such as Maca and Yanque, where we will see their colonial churches, typical squares, and the warmth of their people. We will also observe the agricultural terraces and the landscapes that shape the natural beauty of the valley.

At midday, we will enjoy a buffet lunch in Chivay.

Afterwards we will begin the return to the city of Arequipa, making stops at panoramic points such as the Volcanoes Viewpoint in Patapampa (4,910 m.a.s.l.), from where the majestic snow-capped peaks Ampato, Sabancaya, and Misti can be seen.
