Destination Experience
Located in the Canas Province, Pallay Punchu is one of the newest and most surprising destinations in Cusco tourism. Its name comes from Andean textile designs, as its sharp silhouette and intense natural color bands resemble a traditional Andean poncho spread across the mountain.
The journey from Cusco crosses wide valleys, highland landscapes, and mountains exceeding 4,700 m.a.s.l., offering a preview of an extraordinary experience. The hike to Pallay Punchu features an almost surreal setting: red mountains, deep canyons, and rock formations that appear hand-carved.
Upon reaching the main viewpoint, the view is simply incomparable: a huge colorful blade dramatically rising above the Layo Valley. This destination is ideal for photographers, adventurers, and travelers seeking less crowded and visually striking locations.
