Itinerary
Departure and scenic route: We will pick you up from your hotel around 04:30 a.m., as long as it is located within Cusco’s historic center. From there, we begin our journey south, following a beautiful route along the Vilcanota River and passing through picturesque Andean villages. Along the way, our guide will explain the geography, local life, and natural surroundings.
Andean breakfast in Cusipata: We make a strategic stop in Cusipata, where we enjoy an Andean buffet breakfast, ideal for recharging energy before the hike.
Hike to the Rainbow Mountains: We continue driving to the starting point of the hike. From here, we begin a gentle walk of approximately 40 minutes, always accompanied by our guide, who will explain the origin of the mountain colors, geological formations, and the natural importance of the area.
At the main viewpoint, you will be able to admire three aligned Rainbow Mountains, a wide, uncrowded landscape perfect for enjoying peacefully and taking incredible photographs.
During the hike, you will observe:
- Multicolored ravines
- Natural geological formations
- Open landscapes ideal for panoramic photography
Visit to the Palcoyo Stone Forest: We then explore the impressive Stone Forest, a group of rocky towers naturally sculpted by wind and time. Walking among these formations feels like visiting an open-air natural museum, where each rock appears as a unique sculpture.
