Hotel pickup (Historic Center): Our tourist transport will pass by your hotel located in the historic center. The guide will provide a brief introduction before starting the tour.
Qorikancha – Temple of the Sun: We begin at the most important temple of the Inca Empire, dedicated to the god Inti (Sun).
Here you will discover:
- The perfect Inca engineering in its original walls.
- The architectural fusion with the Convent of Santo Domingo.
- The astronomical and religious symbolism of the site.
Sacsayhuamán – Ceremonial Fortress: Located in the upper part of the city, this monumental construction stands out for its enormous stone blocks perfectly assembled, some weighing more than 100 tons.
The guide will explain:
- Its ceremonial and strategic function.
- Theories about its construction.
- The celebration of Inti Raymi every June 24.
- From here you get spectacular panoramic views of Cusco.
Q’enqo – Ceremonial Center: Mystical site where religious rituals were performed.
You will observe:
- Channels carved in rock.
- A semicircular amphitheater.
- Underground ceremonial chambers.
Puka Pukara – Red Fortress: Former military post and strategic control point. Its name means “Red Fortress” due to the color its stones acquire at sunset.
Tambomachay – Temple of Water: Ceremonial center dedicated to the worship of water, famous for its hydraulic channels that continue functioning to this day.
Return to Cusco: We finish the tour in the historic center of the city.
